Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco) Employees to Help Sort and Label Food at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County (Business Wire)

Approximately 20 Aimco employees will volunteer at the food bank’s warehouse to sort and package produce and other food items. In addition, Aimco will make its own food donation to Second Harvest.
“For Aimco team members, today is all about giving back to the communities where we work,” said Keith Kimmel, Aimco Area Vice President in Irvine. “Second Harvest performs an invaluable service for people in need in the Orange County region and we are proud to help do our part.”
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of its Aimco Cares philanthropic program, Aimco team members have organized activities across the country to promote community service and to assist those in need, especially during these tough economic times. Through Aimco Cares, each Aimco employee is given 10 paid hours annually to apply toward a volunteer activity, reflecting the company’s commitment to being a good corporate citizen.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is a charitable non-profit organization working to eliminate hunger in Orange County. Since 1983 Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County has distributed more than 245 million pounds of food through over 400 member charities. Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is currently serving over a quarter million at-risk individuals each month in Orange County.
